25 Feb 2012: Venus & Jupiter in Conjunction with the Moon. Orion is clearly visible in the center, the moon exhibits a "star" pattern with Jupiter to its left and Venus to its right. The little dot right next to the moon is lens flare. I just missed getting Mars in to the picture at the extreme left! (Broemmelsiek Park around 7:30PM. Nikon D300 with Rokinon 8mm Fisheye @ f/5.6 ISO 200 six 30 second images stacked in DSS and processed in PS CS5)
A screen shot courtesy of Stellarium at the same time so you can identify the various constellations.
2 January 2012 around 6PM: Jupiter, the Moon & Venus all in one line. Jupiter is below the Moon, & Venus to the right close to the end of the pergola.
Rokinon 8mm Fisheye f/3.5 lens on Nikon D300. 0.5 Seconds, f/8, ISO-3200 Some processing with CS5. (Thanks Steve B. for the inspiration!)
