I am new to astro imaging and am still struggling to learn all the bits.  This was a very hazy night as can be seen by the halo around the moon, but the effect was interesting so I thought I'd try a picture.

 

The picture was shot with a Nikon D300 and a Sigma 500mm lens with a couple of tele-extenders. No stacking, but some processing in PS CS5.
