Want your own telescope?  Here are some thoughts.

1)  ASEM members can borrow club-owned telescopes for their personal use.  Click here to see a  List of ASEM equipment

2)  See if you can attend Friday Night Open House Friday evenings at Broemmelsiek Park.  You can talk to telescope users and see what they like and don't like about particular telescopes types and brands.

3)  The DIY ATM SIG is ASEM's  Do It Yourself, Amateur Telescope Maker, Special Interest Group.  It is easier than you think to make a Newtonian reflector telescope.   ASEM DIY ATM SIG

4) Attend an ASEM Beginner's Meeting, held the first Thursday of every month at 7pm at the Weldon Springs Interpretive Site.  Look at telescopes in a lighted room, get answers to your questions, and more.
