32-in telescope observatory

The 32-inch telescope is a premier instrument purchased with a generous cash grant from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing St. Louis.  It is an unparalleled resource in the State of Missouri for public outreach, teaching and student research.  Currently the telescope is located on a private site in Moscow Mills, Missouri, but an agreement has been reached with the Parks Department of St. Charles County to re-locate it to Broemmelsiek Park.  It is expected that this move will be completed by late Spring 2010.

Here is a conceptual sketch of the new observatory site at the Park, showing the relative locations of the existing observatory and the individual observing pads.
