ASEM has always urged its members to "get out and observe." There are thousands of interesting objects in the sky but some are considered fundamental to the amateur experience. Among these are the objects on the Messier List, some general astronomical subjects, the Lunar 100, etc. We also emphasize completing the requirements for various Astronomical League Observing Clubs. To monitor how we are doing as a club, we have provided the following surveys to assess our collective performance. The results are summarized in the graphs which show the percentage of the various objects have been observed by our members (who participate in the surveys). Members are urged to update their results as they observe more and more objects. The Messier List |
